{"id":1600,"date":"2018-04-09T20:42:41","date_gmt":"2018-04-09T20:42:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/buxtonac.org.uk\/?p=1600"},"modified":"2018-04-09T20:42:41","modified_gmt":"2018-04-09T20:42:41","slug":"amy-takes-on-classic-fell-races","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dev.buxtonac.org.uk\/?p=1600","title":{"rendered":"Amy takes on Classic Fell Races"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Buxton&#8217;s Amy Whelan has spent the last 2 weekends taking part in 2 of the most iconic races in the fell calender.\u00a0 First up she travelled to Horwich to run one of the oldest and most historic fell races &#8211; Rivington Pike.\u00a0 Amy ran the Junior Pike &#8211; a tough 2.9km race with 580 feet of climb.\u00a0 She finished an impressive 4th girl.\u00a0 Then this weekend she ran another historic fell race in Pendle.\u00a0 Pendle, \u2018the Hill of the Lancashire Witches\u2019 is the most prominent and best loved landmark in north east Lancashire and surrounding areas. The original race in 1956 was a 6.5 mile course with 1250ft of climbing and started from the Bay Horse at Roughlee.
