Emma is married to Gary, is mum to Emily, Freddie and George, and takes care of whole multitude of animals!<\/p>\n The last of the club championship races take place in November (details below), and even if not competing for the championship, it would be great to see you there.<\/p>\n Club XC (Grinlow)<\/strong> \u2013 10am Sun 7th Nov 2021 As a reminder, to be eligible for the championships, you need to complete 4 of the 5 races.<\/p>\n Club XC (Grinlow) \u2013 10am Sun 7th Nov 2021 Feb 2022 Only events occurring this month are included here: Both the Manchester and North Staffs XC leagues have introduced chip timing this year resulting in an increase in costs. The club will no longer be paying North Staffs League race fees, but we are still in Division 1 (men and women), and encourage you to race. Use this link<\/a> to enter yourself for the North Staffs fixtures. The club still pays all fees for the Manchester Area races and will register you. If you wish to run, please comment on the following facebook event<\/a>. Note that the deadline for entry is 2 weeks before your first race.<\/p>\n A full list of dates for this season\u2019s cross country fixtures, including county and national events can be found on the club website<\/a>.<\/p>\n The next Pavilion Gardens 5K<\/a>, open to all, will start at 9am Sat 13th Nov. The route will be timed and marked, but not marshalled.<\/p>\n Friday 10th Dec 2021, 7pm<\/strong><\/p>\n The Christmas party and presentation night will be held at the Cavendish Golf Club, \u00a320pp including half a bottle of wine. All members and partners, are welcome.<\/p>\n Garlic mushrooms **** **** Please e-mail Bev Golden<\/a> with your menu choices, with the subject line \u201cxmas party 2021\u201d.<\/p>\n Club runs occur Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30pm, meeting outside the swimming pool. Keep an eye on the Facebook Group for details.<\/p>\n Structured training sessions occur alongside our juniors on Mondays, 6-7pm, meeting at Buxton Community School Sports Hall. \u00a32 per session.<\/p>\n We\u2019d love to read about races you\u2019ve taken part in, so if you\u2019d be willing to write a race report, please send it to Nick Jones for inclusion on the club website.<\/p>\n Mondays & Wednesdays, 6pm<\/p>\n The 9-week T5K course began last month, with a great turnout, consisting of both new and returning runners. Participants are working towards running the Pavilion Gardens 5K on Saturday 11th December (yes, that is the morning after the Christmas party!).<\/p>\n If anybody is able to volunteer at any sessions to support the participants and\/or to lead a group, please let Jenny Cropper know, or just turn up to a session (starting outside the pool). It\u2019s a large group, so all help appreciated, and it\u2019s truly rewarding!<\/p>\n Leicestershire Half Marathon \u2013 Sunday 27rd Feb 2021<\/p>\n There will be a club outing, taking part in the Leicestershire Half Marathon, followed by lunch.<\/p>\n If you\u2019d like to join us, simply enter the race<\/a> yourself, and let Emma Wentworth know that you\u2019d like a place on the FREE BUS (or reply to the Facebook announcement).<\/p>\n 11am Sunday 12th Dec 2021<\/p>\n The Litton Christmas Cracker<\/a>, a 7.6mile category BM fell race is going ahead again this year, and volunteers are needed to help before, during and after the race. If you\u2019re not planning to run, and are able to help, please let Sue Jeff know<\/a>.<\/p>\n We have 2 club places for next year\u2019s London marathon. <\/a>Emma originally joined Buxton AC as a junior, and has been an active member of the club for >30 years, and of the committee for 23 years. During that time Emma has organised the club championships, helped support numerous club races, and continues to organise our club outings.
