The month set off seeing three Buxton juniors represent England and compete in the Junior Home International
\nMountain running. On the 2nd September Lucy Bednall, Grace Longden and Will Longden all travelled to Ambleside to meet with their teams and enjoy an evening of
\neither walking the course or going to the lake for a paddle. After an overnight stay in the university accommodation it was race day! With rain overnight the course was quite muddy and slippery underfoot. The first race of the day was the U17s. Grace Longden \u2013 making her England debut \u2013
\nran to finish a respective 22nd. In the U20 race, Will ran to finish an excellent fifth overall and contributed to team England U20 men get the silver medal. Lucy Bednall also had a great race to finish ninth overall, which helped the England U20 women\u2019s team claim the gold medal.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
